Nestled in southeastern Monroe County, Wilton is home to approximately 519 people.  Known as “the heart” of the Elroy-Sparta bike trail, this small village comes to life the first weekend in August.

Dating back to the late 1970s, our festival was formerly known as Wilton Fun Fest.  The name change occurred as a result of road construction tying the towns of Wilton and Ontario together on HWY 131.  While planning the original route, endangered Wood Turtles were discovered.  To preserve the habitat, the highway’s route was changed.

The following year (1992), our festival’s title was officially changed to “Wilton Wood Turtle Days” in honor of our endangered friends.

Our upcoming festival marks the 22nd anniversary of Wilton Wood Turtle Days.  With an array of events including fireworks, softball/volleyball tournaments, and music, we invite you to come and join in on our small town family fun!
